Could Be a Movie: Marie Walsh aka Susan Lefevre (fugitive mom)

You probably remember seeing this one on Oprah. It was the story of a mom who was living a secret life. It was a secret that she would keep for 32 years from her family until a knock at the door changed everything.

It all started in 1975 when 19 year old Susan Lefevre was arrested for selling heroine to an undercover cop. She pled guilty and was sentenced to up to 20 years behind bars. One year later, with the help of her grandfather, Susan escaped prison and started a new life in California under the name Marie. She eventually married, had three children, and lived a charming life, until one day, as she was gardening in her front yard, the police came to arrest her. Terrified, she then had to explain to her daughter that she was being arrested. It would be the first time that her children and her husband would find out who she really was.
